In an unprecedented step; the local Court of Dr. Sukhda Pritam, JMIC Chandigarh, the then Duty Magistrate Chandigarh on 05.09.2015 took stringent view of allegations of custodial torture by the accused produced in the Court. Enquiry of the same was immediately marked to the SSP and the medical examination was also ordered. Rohit Sharma, accused when produced in the Court of JMIC; cried of torture supported by his mother who was also present in the Court. Seeing this Court asked the accused real facts and he pointed out fingers towards police persons present in the Court. Injury marks were also shown to the Court and the Court thereafter ordered inquiry.

After the inquiry results came on 07.09.2015; the allegations were proved and the medical examination of accused pointed out towards the recent beating marks by the police during custody. SSP Chandigarh however said that he is yet to receive the complaint and the appropriate steps shall be taken by the Police after the same is received.
